The transition from medical school to the wards or in foreign countries to UK hospitals can be a bit daunting. Join us as we explore and give you pearls on how to excel, be a safe and competent doctor and in UK hospitals.
This session will be delivered by multiple doctors under the stewardship of Dr Jade Scott-Blagrove, Radiology Registrar and Founder of WPMN. In this episode of the series, we will be explore radiology, how to interpret common modalities encountered daily, how to understand reports, how to make appropriate requests and recognising pathology. These sessions will prove to be an invaluable gem, helping build a solid foundation in the basics of radiology for all doctors.
Bio
Jade Scott-Blagrove is a Radiology Registrar in Cambridge and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. You'll leave her session feeling more confident about making radiology requests by learning from my mistakes and others! You'll also leave with some tips on interpreting imaging.
Rowaa Mohd is a Junior Surgical Fellow in Leeds General Infirmary, currently doing Trauma and orthopedics.
Syed Asaad Qadri complete FY1 training at Royal Oldham Hospital. He is interested in diagnostic radiology and medical education
Neil Lenus is a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Bristol with an interest in Radiology. He graduated from Bart's and the London in 2020 and completed foundation training in the Severn Deanery.
Zahra is a FY2 doctor currently working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she has worked in acute medicine, ITU, Colorectal surgery and respiratory medicine. She graduated from Imperial College London in 2019 with a bachelor’s in management in 2021 with her medical degree. She is keen to specialise in radiology as it covers a wide breath of medical and surgical pathology and offers lots of practicality with the interventional subspecialty.
Ellen Collingwood is a Clinical Radiology ST1 in West Yorkshire. She attended medical school in Sheffield, moved to Leeds for her Foundation Training, then spent her FY3 year working in Paediatrics (and doing lots of travelling!).
Diogo is a Portuguese born doctor, currently out of training, working in Cardiology in Northumbria. He is passionate about mental health and widening participation in medicine for doctors with disabilities.
Samaa is a F3 doctor based in Essex. She graduated from Newcastle University and completed foundation training in the East of England Deanery. She is applying for radiology specialty training.
