1. To understand the basic anatomy and physiology of the heart, and explain how it is represented on an ECG. 2. To understand, identify and interpret the basic components of an ECG tracing including P wave, QRS complex, T wave, and interpret what they represent about heart activity. 3. To be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal ECG readings, with focus on common cardiac conditions like myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, ischemia, and hypertrophy. 4. To learn and apply systematic approaches in reading and interpreting ECGs to promote accuracy and efficiency. 5. To develop the skills and knowledge necessary to communicate ECG findings effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
