Learning objectives
- Understand and identify the risk factors associated with prostate cancer to facilitate early detection and diagnosis processes.
- Explain the pathophysiology and progression of prostate cancer, allowing for a better understanding of the development and stages of the disease.
- Compare and contrast the various treatment options for prostate cancer, including surgery, radiation, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy, and discuss their benefits and possible side effects.
- Develop efficient diagnostic skills for prostate cancer, including understanding the role and interpretation of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) testing and digital rectal exam (DRE).
