Learning objectives

  1. To understand the key presentations of various types of joint pain that a practitioner may encounter based on patient descriptions and symptoms.

  2. To learn about various differentials for joint pain, enabling the practitioner to better distinguish between possible diagnoses.

  3. To acquire knowledge on necessary investigations required for diagnosing different types of joint pain such as physical examination, laboratory tests, imaging studies, etc.

  4. To familiarize with the management plans of varying types of joint pain, reviewing non-surgical and surgical interventions, rehabilitation strategies, and when to refer the patient to surgeons or specialists.

  5. To prepare for OSCE and UKMLA T&O content, equipping attendees with the necessary skills and knowledge required for evaluating and managing joint pain effectively.
