To understand common acute ophthalmic conditions, their etiologies and symptoms, to improve initial patient assessment accuracy.
To be able to formulate differential diagnoses for acute ocular complaints using history taking and physical exam findings.
To attain knowledge about various investigations in acute ophthalmology, including when and how to order, interpret and act upon the results.
To be capable of formulating immediate management plans for acute ophthalmic emergencies, using evidence-based guidelines and practices.
To gain confidence in handling real-life ophthalmic cases and enhance understanding for the UKMLA and OSCE examinations.
