Summary

The 2024 Neurotheatre is an innovative teaching session designed for high school students and medical students interested in neurosurgery. By exploring cutting-edge techniques and research, attendees will expand their understanding of neurological diseases, patient treatment, and management.

Learning objectives

1. To understand the common mechanisms and outcomes of brain trauma, including the immediate and long-term effects on neural structures and functions. 2. To acquire knowledge about the standard protocols and procedures followed by paramedics in responding to cases of brain injury. 3. To analyze the subsequent treatment steps and the decision-making process in a hospital setting, specifically related to neurosurgery cases. 4. To gain insight into the intricacies of neurosurgery itself, including the different types of procedures, their risks, benefits, and implications for patient outcomes. 5. To apply the theoretical knowledge into practical learning via a simulated experience of neurosurgery, supervised and guided by experienced consultants.
