Join our clinically focused teaching on ear pain, hearing problems, tinnitus, and vertigo to help prepare for finals where we discuss history-taking, physical examinations, investigations, and how to differentiate between different causes of ear pain, hearing problems, tinnitus, and vertigo with practice case scenarios.
This teaching is not only aimed at Manchester medical students, anyone is welcome to join.

Conditions we will cover include:
- Ear pain (auricular haematoma. cellulitis, otitis externa, necrotising (malignant) otitis externa, otitis media, sinusitis, and temporal arteritis)
- Mainly conductive hearing loss (e.g. earwax, otitis externa, otitis media, otosclerosis, and cholesteatoma)
- Mainly sensorineural hearing loss (e.g. presbycusis, Ménière’s disease, vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma, and labyrinthitis)
- Vertigo (Benign positional paroxysmal vertigo (BPPV), Ménière’s disease, vestibular neuronitis, and labyrinthitis)
Learning objectives:
1. How to take a concise ear, nose, and throat history and know when to ask what question
2. Physical examinations to consider and their relevant signs
3. Investigations for ear, nose, and throat disorders and when to consider them
4. Causes of ear, nose, and throat disorders and how do differentiate between them
5. Practice OSCE scenarios to apply knowledge of ear, nose, and throat disorders
