1. By the end of the session, participants will have a distinct understanding of the unique healthcare issues that are primarily faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, their contributing factors, and effects. 2. Participants will be able to identify and articulate the common barriers faced by the LGBTQIA+ individuals in accessing and obtaining necessary healthcare services, whist being equipped to work towards dismantling those barriers. 3. Through exploring various real-life scenarios, the attendees should be capable of discussing and providing consultation for different key health determinants in LGBTQIA+ patients including mental health, HIV/AIDS, and transgender health. 4. At the end of the session, participants will gain an understanding on how to incorporate into their practice a culturally competent approach when providing care to patients from the LGBTQIA+ community to encourage better health outcomes. 5. Participants will learn about the importance of advocating for policies and practices that promote health equity for the LGBTQIA+ community, and have the knowledge to deliver awareness and education to others in the medical field.
