Description

Echocardiography for Diagnosis, Prognosis, and Management in HCM

Tuesday 17th August - 5:30 pm

**FREE event! Registration is required to receive the Microsoft Live Event link**.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the commonest inherited heart disease, characterised by ventricular hypertrophy that cannot be solely explained by increased afterload (e.g. arterial hypertension).

Echocardiography is a key tool in the assessment of HCM patients. Measurements are used in the clinical decision-making process to confirm diagnosis, predict prognosis, and assess therapeutic efficacy. This talk considers the impact of this key imaging modality on these areas, with reference to the newly updated British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) guidelines.

There will be a live Q&A session after the talk with the speaker, James Malcolmson, Deputy Principal Cardiac Physiologist at Barts Heart Centre.

This episode is perfect for Healthcare Scientists, Allied Health Professionals, Cardiologists, and Researchers interested in the assessment of HCM.
