Specialised Foundation Programme (SFP) allows UK medical graduates to complete their foundation training while having dedicated time for research, leadership, medical education or a mix of all three. The time is especially valuable because they are protected from the day-to-day clinical duties.
Some deaneries combine all three components (research, leadership and medical education) into one stream. A notable example is the Northern deanery. But what about those deaneries that separate these components into the standalone stream?
Why research? Why Med Ed? How you can express your passion on the White Space Question (WSQ)
This introductory series continues and we aim to help students decide which stream is more appropriate for their career. We will continue to lift the veil of mystery of these wonderful career paths for students across the UK. We will walk you through the setup of the initial program, to the written application process, and then further to the interview stage.
So if you have never heard of the SFP, sitting on the fence about whether to apply or not, or if you are enthusiastic about the program, we have something for everyone. Join us, for enlightening talks hosted in the next 2 months!
