Join Drs Leila Aval, Kalp Patel, Dan Coulson and Alice fortune for a critical appraisal of RCTs (with a focus on patient-reported outcome measures/ PROMs) crash course along with an emergency A-E scenario. You will be sent an abstract for appraising prior to the session and then the tutors will go through it in depth during the session. These sessions are tailored for the SFP interviews, specifically for London and Oxbridge deaneries.

Summary
This teaching session will focus on the critical appraisal of randomised controlled trials (RCTs), with an emphasis on patient reported outcome measures. The session will equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to interpret and evaluate the results of RCTs so they can better make decisions related to their patients’ care. It will also provide an opportunity to have meaningful discussions with researchers and colleagues about the implications of RCT results. Attendees will gain valuable insights and tips regarding the interpretation of RCTs with patient reported outcome measures.
