1. To understand and comprehend the basic principles and concepts in cardiology, focusing particularly on diagnosis and management of common cardiac conditions. 2. To develop competence in conducting comprehensive cardiovascular examinations including appropriate usage of basic clinical tools such as stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, and ECG. 3. To acquire skills to accurately interpret ECG results, chest radiographs and other related diagnostic tests regularly seen in practicing cardiology. 4. To enhance critical thinking skills in developing differential diagnoses and treatment plans for cardiac cases, and to understand the rationale for choosing specific pharmacological therapeutic strategies in a given clinical scenario. 5. To build communication skills in discussing cardiac diagnosis, treatment and prognosis with patients and their families, as well as in presenting cases to peers and faculty. Additionally, understanding proper referral mechanisms for patients requiring further cardiac care.
