Scalpel X Royal College of Surgeons England presents - Bridge to Surgery.
Accessibility to a career in surgery has been known to be effected by various different factors; from race and gender to sexuality and socioeconomic backgrounds. As students, we make career choices at a very early stage and these choices are easily influenced by how accepting people will be of our roles. With this grassroots project we aim to catalyse the changing face of surgery by catering to the needs of our future surgeons. Let us show you that surgery has a place for you.
Our grand event - Bridge to Surgery Conference will address diversity, equity and inclusion in surgery, whilst equipping you with surgical skills from our workshops. Save the date - Saturday 4th February 2023.
This is a surgical conference aimed at both medical students and sixth form student. For widening participation students there is an opportunity to waver the £5 ticket fee by completing the following form:
A travel bursary can also be provided; more information regarding this will be made available in due time.
Please note this event is for medical students and sixth form student aspiring to go into medicine only.
