Summary

Introducing our BOTA x BOMSA pre-congress national course for all medical students and foundation doctors!

If you're looking to find out what T&O is like, get a hands-on practical experience and be mentored then this course is for you! Attending this course is an excellent way to demonstrate commitment to the speciality for both CST and ST3 applications.

The morning will start with a mix of lectures and workshops, including Assessment & Management of a trauma patient. Principles of Fracture Management. External fixation, Trauma & Imaging and Plate and screw fixation.

The afternoon session will be delivered in a unique breakout session style delivered by an incredible faculty. Each delegate will be able to preference a maximum of 3 sessions from the following:

  4. Leadership and Education
  5. Non-conventional routes into orthopaedics
  6. Work-life balance/ culture and diversity

Complimentary lunch, teas, and coffee are provided to all course delegates - please email with any dietary requirements.

If oversubscribed, a waiting list will be kept and delegates will be informed of any cancellations - please email student@bota.org.uk if this is the case.

There is NO requirement for medical students to attend the main BOTA congress as well. However, this is an amazing opportunity to learn first-hand what trainees are exposed to day-to-day with unrivalled networking opportunities with trainees and consultants across the UK. This is particularly useful should you wish to apply for any national management and leadership roles within orthopaedics in the future, demonstrating a real commitment to the speciality and setting you apart from your peers
