We are excited to introduce theĀ first of four lessons for our teaching series in Edinburgh. Lesson 1,Ā Orthopaedic Emergencies, focuses on theĀ theoretical foundationsĀ of managing time-critical conditions. This session will provide an overview of key emergencies, their pathophysiology, and initial management strategies, covering:

  • Spinal cord compression & cauda equina syndrome
  • Compartment syndrome
  • Compound (open) fractures
  • Nerve injuries
  • Septic arthritis (native & prosthetic joints)
  • Necrotizing fasciitis
