Summary

Join us for an intensive 3-hour session on BLS (Basic Life Support), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and Medical Emergencies, facilitated by the experienced SafeHands training team. This session will equip medical professionals to handle life-threatening situations with confidence and precision, honing their emergency response skills. Upgrade your qualifications and enhance patient-care techniques with our comprehensive practical guide. Don't miss this learning opportunity to stay ahead in your practice.

Learning objectives

  1. Understand the fundamental principles of Basic Life Support (BLS): By the end of the session, participants should be able to explain the steps of the BLS 'Chain of Survival' and demonstrate the correct sequence of actions to take during a cardiopulmonary resuscitation scenario.

  2. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering quality chest compressions and rescue breaths: Participants should learn how to effectively perform chest compressions and rescue breaths as per the latest CPR guidelines, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

  3. Increase competence in the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED): The learners should be able to perform defibrillation using an AED device, including correct placement of the defibrillator pads and delivery of a shock in a safe manner.

  4. Develop effective decision-making skills in the management of medical emergencies: Participants should be able to prioritize care, differentiate the signs of different medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking, and decide upon appropriate intervention strategies.

  5. Enhance communication and teamwork skills in the context of medical emergency response: The session aims to teach participants the importance of clear and effective communication in crisis scenarios, including how to efficiently hand over patient information and coordinate tasks amongst team members.
