Description

This is the second session in a teaching series titled Basics of Cardio-thoracic Surgery. The series would provide medical students and junior doctors with an interest with cardiothoracic surgery with a in depth understanding of the basic principles of cardiothoracic surgery.

This session on cardiac physiology will provide you with an in-depth knowledge on physiology of the cardiovascular system, discussing cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac circulation and normal physiological function of the heart. This will serve as a foundation to understanding cardiac pathologies.

Summary

This teaching session is a basic introduction to the cardio-thoracic surgical field for medical students and junior doctors. It will include a comprehensive overview of the cardiac physiology of the heart, exploring topics such as electrophysiology, cardiac conduction systems, and hemodynamics. After learning the fundamentals of cardio-thoracic surgery, medical professionals will be prepared to take on the fundamentals of cardiac surgery. Attendees will get an exclusive chance to gain an in-depth knowledge of the cardiovascular system, and learn how to apply it to practical medical scenarios.
