Description

This talk will provide an overview of why I applied to the specialised foundation programme and how I prepared for the application and interview. I will also provide a summary of my previous research experience, and my lab-based project that will be carried out during the specialised foundation programme research block (developing minimally invasive liquid biopsy assays to inform management decisions in HPV-negative oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma).

Summary

Join Dr. Chris Callaghan for an informative session on the path to becoming a clinical academic. This session aims to guide medical students on how to get involved in a Specialised Foundation Programme (ENT). Dr. Callaghan will share his personal experience, from his decision to apply, preparation for the application and interview, and his previous research undertakings. You'll gain key insights on lab-based projects, particularly focused on the development of minimally invasive liquid biopsy assays in HPV-negative oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.
