Summary

Welcome to the annual IRJ Applying to Radiology webinar series, where you can get all the tips and trips to getting a successful application to Radiology by ST1s and ST2s who have just done it themselves! Dr Karan Daga is an ST1 doing a runthrough IR training programme at Imperial College London. He completed an academic foundation programme at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ trust before this, with a research block at the KCL school of biomedical engineering and imaging sciences. His interests lie in vascular and non-vascular IR, particularly oncological intervention.

Learning objectives

1. To comprehend the educational and professional requirements for applying to an Interventional Radiology programme. 2. To become familiar with the application process and timeline for applying to Interventional Radiology programmes. 3. To understand the structure and content of Interventional Radiology training 4. To identify key skills and qualifications that make an effective and successful interventional radiologist and how these are evaluated in the application process.
