AAA is a hugely important condition, and a ruptured AAA has a mortality of up to 90%. Interventional Radiology plays a critical role in the life saving treatment of disease. Peripheral aneurysms can present in multiple areas, and are another bread and butter condition that IR plays a huge role in.
This topic in vascular/emergency medicine is SO important. AAA management is a commonly tested topic in medical school exams as well as OSCEs. Junior doctors on the wards, A&E and GP should know about the diagnosis and management of AAA.
We are honoured to have an incredible speaker for this session. Dr Drew Maclean is a consultant interventional radiologist in Southampton with a passion for teaching.
