1. To understand the basic anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, including the roles of different parts of the system in ensuring adequate oxygen delivery to the body. 2. To familiarize oneself with common respiratory conditions and their risk factors, signs and symptoms, as well as diagnostic criteria and management strategies. 3. To learn and practice physical examination skills specifically related to assessing respiratory function, enabling the ability to detect abnormalities and potential pathologies. 4. To be prepared to interpret various diagnostic modalities including spirometry, chest X-rays, and blood gas analyses, and understand how these findings can impact a patient’s treatment plan. 5. To study the impact of chronic respiratory conditions on patients’ quality of life and discuss strategies to manage these conditions both medically and holistically.
