Aim
To provide the knowledge and skills to obtain dental impressions for the purpose of record, diagnosis, treatment planning, and oral appliance production.
Objectives
Understand the method of impression taking and its rationale. Correctly choose and adjust impression trays to take alginate impressions. Take alginate impressions under a dentist’s prescription. Show correct care for patients who require to have alginate impressions recorded, including cross infection procedures.
Learning content
This practical course is aimed to develop the DCP to take impressions to the prescription of a dentist or where appropriate a CDT.
