This short course is designed to provide healthcare educators with the knowledge and skills to become effective leaders in the field of healthcare education. The course will cover four key topics: adaptive leadership, complex systems, negotiating with integrity and sustaining leadership.
Course dates:
The course comprises of four sessions held on the following 2024 dates: Tuesday 9 January, Monday 5 February, Wednesday 6 March and Tuesday 9 April, 9:30-16:30. You need to attend all four days to complete the course.
Learning objectives:
1. Adapting your leadership
This session aims to introduce the concept and principles of adaptive leadership and how it can help educators to grow and thrive in complex and uncertain environments.
2. Adapting to change
This session aims to explore how complexity thinking fosters a deeper understanding of the dynamics and relationships of the systems we participate in and how we can respond to uncertainty and change.
3. Negotiating with integrity
This session aims to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct negotiations in a collaborative and ethical manner that benefits all parties involved.
4. Sustaining leadership
This session aims to explore the concepts and practices of sustaining improvement and collective leadership in complex and changing contexts.
