1. To understand the basic principles and techniques involved in performing an abdominal X-ray, including patient positioning and image interpretation. 2. To correctly identify various organs and pathologies visible in an abdominal X-ray, emphasizing on conditions such as bowel obstructions, perforations, and tumors. 3. To learn the significance and procedures of obtaining a comprehensive and relevant history from patients presenting with abdominal complaints. This includes understanding the importance of age, gender, medical and surgical history in addition to clinical symptoms. 4. To develop competence in identifying indications for requesting an abdominal X-ray, and to differentiate them from situations where alternative imaging modalities may be more appropriate. 5. To effectively understand how to integrate findings from the history, physical examination, and the abdominal X-ray in order to come up with a differential diagnosis and management plan.
