This session of the A+E Survival Guide series will cover common presentations in Psychiatry. This interactive teaching is aimed at medical students and junior doctors. Through case-based discussions, and MCQs, attendees will learn how to recognise different psychiatric conditions, understand how to carry out an MSE (Mental State Exam), learn how to assess a patient’s risk and manage accordingly. Join us at 6pm!

1) Recognise different psychiatric conditions that may present to the emergency department. 2) Describe the process of carrying out a Mental State Exam. 3) Understand how to assess a patient's risk. 4) Develop practical skills to implement management strategies for presenting psychiatric conditions. 5) Describe the role of multidisciplinary teams in managing acute psychiatric presentations in the A&E department.
