Welcome to University Hospital’s Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Our vision Our vision is to build healthier lives. Our purpose Our purpose is to improve the health of our patients and communities through delivering the best in clinical care, research, innovation and education. Our values To build healthier lives, we are guided by three values that define and shape our working practices. Kind Showing kindness to each other, and to our patients and visitors, every day. Connected Building connections with everyone around us. Bold Always aiming to be bold in how we think, speak and act. You will be visiting one of our 5 main sites, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. When Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) opened in June 2010, it was the city's first new acute hospital for 70 years. The site of the new main hospital building is also home to the original Queen Elizabeth Hospital, with services spread across the whole site. The hospital, which is located in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, brings together services previously provided at the older hospital and at the nearby Selly Oak Hospital. As a result of its clinical expertise in treating trauma patients and military casualties, QEHB has been designated both a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK’s only £20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).
