Mr Budair you mentioned about innovation in problem solving - eg noticing that a portable ultrasound was invaluable for enabling regional anaesthetic blocks where analgesic agents are very limited. Is there a process of information sharing with other humanitarian organisations about such valuable lessons / for feeding back regarding what additional resources would be the most impactful?

Well done both. I have recently had a job planning meeting and have been told that professional leave can't be used for surgical missions like this. I'm negotiating time in lieu but I wonder if other trust in the country are allowing prof leave or only annual leave?

Very insightful talks. Eager to know about the path patients take through the hospital - how does the emergency/resus care prior to surgery and aftercare in wards of level 2/3 care compare with what we have in the UK given the desperate circumstances?
