Edinburgh University General Surgery Research & Innovation Society (EUGSRIS) is committed to helping students and trainees with an interest in general surgery and its sub-specialities: Breast, Colorectal, Upper and Lower GI, Transplant and Vascular Surgery. We will be running many academic and non-academic events for 2025/2026 committee. Teaching will include Y2/Y4 OSCEs and Cadaveric Surgical Anatomy teaching series. Our bi-weekly surgical sketch club, the first of its kind at the University of Edinburgh, will allow students to connect through arts and anatomy. We are aiming to run a charity art gala exhibition closer to the end of the academic year to allow students to connect with professional academics, other students and to show case their work while we raise funds for Art in Healthcare. Our academic event is focused around our Research Symposium is currently underway, aiming to deliver something new in the field of General Surgery and workshops for students to attend. Students will have an opportunity to network with leading academics in the field while also We will also be hosting outreach sessions for aspiring medics, ranging from medical interview workshops to preparing for medical school for offer holders.
