Conference Abstract Submissions - Open

We are excited to announce our 4th Annual Conference, which will occur onĀ Sunday, March 23rd, 2025, at King’s College London. Building on the success of our previous conference,Ā which welcomed over 120 delegates last March, this event promises to be a vibrant gathering of healthcare professionals, students and thought leaders nationwide.

We are excited to announce that the abstract submission for our 2025 conference is now open!

šŸ“„ Abstracts should link to our conference theme this year of 'The Healthcare Revolution' - Innovation, Technology and Global Health'. Examples of relevant themes include:

- AI in Medicine and Surgery

- ⁠Digital Health

- ⁠Technology innovations in Medicine and Surgery

šŸŽÆ The competition is open to medical students and foundation doctors.

ā° The closing date for abstract submission is 9th February 2025

āœļø Word limit: 300 words

šŸ†Successful Abstracts will be invited for oral and poster presentations at the National Conference on Sunday, 23rd March 2025. The top 3 abstracts will be invited to deliver an oral presentation. Other successful abstracts will be invited to present posters at the conference. Prizes (certificates and free Amboss membership worth up to Ā£330) will be awarded to the top 3 oral presentations and the top 3 posters!

Be part of BIMA’s long-term vision now:

We are delighted to announce the commencement of the application process for the upcoming committee of the British Indian Medical Association (BIMA) for the term 2024-2025.

We invite you to submit your application during this initial phase. Given the competitive nature of the selection process, it is essential that candidates submit outstanding applications to be considered for shortlisting.

Applicants for Executive positions will be granted the opportunity to participate in an interview following the shortlisting stage.

Benefits of Securing a National Position within BIMA:

Securing a national position within BIMA offers numerous benefits. As an accredited organization, committee members have access to:

-Exclusive educational, research, and networking opportunities

-Development of a robust portfolio that surpasses that of local committee roles

•⁠ ⁠Engage in National Research Projects (With over 4 PubMed Cited BIMA Publications to date)

•⁠ ⁠⁠Engage with local and national partnerships including with the GMC

•⁠ ⁠⁠Collaborate with local charity organisations e.g., the Asian Cancer Subgroup BIMA Thinktank

•⁠ ⁠⁠Be part of a family.

-Most committee members have achieved top scores in ā€œLeadershipā€, ā€œTeaching,ā€ ā€œPresentation,ā€ and ā€œPublicationā€ categories on CST and IMT applications. Additionally, their letters of recommendation are endorsed by our esteemed consultant patron.

Applications are now open for positions in both our surgical wing (BISA) and BIMA. Please note that the application deadline is Friday, 28th June 2024, at 23:59 BST.
