This is the causative agent of Lyme disease, which typically presents with erythema migrans (a large, circular, bulls-eye patterned rash), fever, headache, and fatigue. It does not cause the acute neurological symptoms described in this patient.

This is the etiological agent of Toxoplasmosis. It is linked to neurological symptoms mostly in immunocompromised individuals, which this patient doesn't seem to be. It also does not produce the cytoplasmic inclusion bodies.

This patient's fever, headache, acute personality change, hydrophobia, fluctuating levels of consciousness, paralysis, and potential wildlife exposure suggest a diagnosis of rabies, a fatal viral encephalitis. Negri bodies, or cytoplasmic inclusion bodies, are pathognomonic for rabies and can be seen on histologic examination of the brain tissue.

This is a free-living amoeba that causes primary amebic meningoencephalitis. Infections often occur after swimming in warm water, which was not part of this patient's history.
