Munier Hossain is a Consultant orthopaedic surgeon at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He completed his orthopaedic training in North Wales and undertook foot and ankle and trauma fellowship in South Wales. His subspecialty interest is in Foot and ankle, diabetic feet and trauma. He has always been interested in medical education. His first foray into teaching involved designing and running a website on Orthopaedic Engineering. Subsequently, he contributed to the biomechanics section of now extinct but ever fondly remembered Orthoteers website. He held honorary Lecturer posts in both Cardiff and Bangor University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has an interest in promoting statistical literacy and practice of evidence based medicine and was the very first graduate of MSc in Evidence based healthcare course of the University of Oxford. He has been running courses teaching statistics and EBM for a number of years. He is also a member of the editorial board of Bone and Joint Journal 360.
