Maneesh Bhatia is a consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at University Hospitals Leicester since 2009, Honorary senior lecturer at the University of Leicester, and Clinical Director of Alliance Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Foot Ankle Society (EFAS) and a member of the Education Committee of the British Orthopaedic Foot Ankle Society (BOFAS). As part of these roles, he plays a very active involvement in the fields of education and research nationally and internationally. One of his Mentees has won the Young Researcher of the Year award from University Hospitals Leicester this year.
He has edited three books in the last six years and received the British Medical Association (BMA) best book award in 2019 for the publication Bhatia, M. (Ed.). (2019). Musculoskeletal Injections and Alternative Options: A practical guide to ‘what, when, and how?’ He has served as an examiner of the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examination (JCIE) for 10 years. He has also served as a Specialist advisor to NICE (for Achilles rupture and Cartiva) and NIHR.
