Mr Lasantha Wijesinghe is a consultant vascular surgeon in Bournemouth and are serving on his first term as a Member of Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Lasantha’s leisure interests are walking and cricket. I am married with adult children. His outlook on life is strongly influenced by his Christian faith and experience of starting life from a relatively poor background but now living in what most would consider comfortable privilege. To Lasantha it is natural that we should be concerned about issues of cutting waste, saving money and using our resources wisely. These streams flow freely into sustainability. He would like to use his position on Council to help surgeons around the UK introduce into their own hospitals, practices of sustainable healthcare.
