Colin leads the GMC's regulatory duties for all stages of medical education. This includes advising doctors on professional conduct, performance and medical ethics. Colin joined the GMC in 2017 having previously held senior leadership roles in medical education at Lancaster Medical School, Warwick Medical School, Hull York Medical School, and North Yorkshire East Coast Foundation School. Colin is also a registered doctor, and previously a consultant in intensive care medicine and Medical Director at Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Services. In June 2018 Colin was awarded Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators and made Honorary Professor in Medical Education at Manchester University.
