1. Discuss recent clinical practice guideline recommendations in endodontics
2. Consider what root canal instruments and irrigants are evidenced based
3. Appreciate the scientific and clinical rationale for pulp preservation
4. Evaluate what implications these guidelines have for practice
5. Highlight what we know and don’t know in clinical endodontics
