Great apologies. If I overrun in advance, I just wanna make sure you guys get everything you need from me. So yeah, I'm Jono. I'm act two in orthopedics. As I told you guys before, same disclaimer applies. Um The portfolio upload takes place in February. So for those of you who are successful to be invited to interview on the seventh of February, the portfolio evidence deadline uh evidence portal will open. You will have until the 19th of February and no exceptions will be made to anyone. So if you don't have your evidence by that point and you haven't submitted it that will be marked negatively during interview, just some food for thought, the easier your portfolio is to navigate, the easier it is for your examiners to mark you. They want something simple concise and to the point you wanna spoon feed them all the evidence that they need and nothing more. Ok? You might think that you're being safe by giving 100s of pages of evidence. Last year, we had some uh an individual submit 150 pages of evidence. Your assessor has 10 minutes to review. So think put yourself in their shoes. What could you do in 10 minutes? How much can you read in 10 minutes? You might find it worth just going through your portfolio and seeing if that's even possible, submit. Only the evidence that's required. Don't add anything else and know your portfolio inside and out because you will be asked about any two domains. Even if you've scored zero on one of the um the worst possible score on the domain, you can still be asked questions about it. So be ready to defend anything you submit. Because if you over claim, then professionalism will be called into question. However, if you over cla I if you have claimed the super points, just defend yourself, tell them why don't be argumentative, but just explain to the examiner or your assessor why you've marked yourself that way. Further guidance on how to upload will be released closer to the er evidence submission deadline. So the index page this you need to submit in February. You do not need to submit it during your oral uh deadline. This month on the left, you'll notice on the N HSE website. Um Literally, if you just type in NHSE CST onto Google, it's the first one that comes up, you'll notice the index page on the right is what I would do is if I was in your situation now, I'm not speaking to someone who works with any of these recruitment bodies, I'm simply giving you my own personal advice and guidance. I was fortunate enough to score top points in everything that I submitted when I applied for my portfolio. And I wanna show you how I did that. What you can see is very clearly put in capital letters, your first name, your surname, and your oral pin at the bottom where I've written signature, draw your signature and then put the date that you signed it below for the evidence submitted. You wanna keep it snappy to the point. You don't want a full text box paragraph that outlines the evidence you've submitted just to the point. So the person knows exactly what bit of evidence they're going to read then on, right? But in big bold letters, the score you're giving yourself if it's a small number, you know, it's not gonna be glancing the attraction of your assessor's face or of your assessor's vision. You just wanna put it big and straight there. The assessor's going right? AAA Aba cool. That's probably what this person's gonna get title pages. Now, these are not mandatory, but I found it quite useful um because you're submitting either one long PDF file or you'll be admitting m um separate PDF files for each domain for each of the domains. I gave it a heading, a title page where I outlined on what pages the evidence I was submitting was on what score I was giving myself. This meant if the interview got lost during in my PDF they could quickly go onto it and know exactly where they needed to look and it was really useful on the right is something I is a different version that you could adopt. I'm not saying it's the best thing I'm not saying you should. However, it's something to consider if you want to make your exam's life a little bit easier. Here. I put the title or the subtitle of the domain. I put the page numbers where you can find my evidence. I've told them what my evidence is, what score I'm giving myself and a snappy one line that outlines why I'm deserving of those top marks. So domain one commitment to surgery, I'm sure you guys already know how the points are marked. Um, observed cases do not count for any of your cases. Ok? They have to be assisted or better. 40 or more scores. You a a being the top points. E being the least points. The evidence requires, you need one consolidation report which you'll download from log book, which includes the summary sheet and have every single page signed exactly like what it tells you on the N HSE website. Ok. Nothing more, nothing less. How do you download this consolidation report when you log in to e logbook through the website? Www dot E logbook.com, you broken under operative records, you select reports and then you have to make sure you fill in the correct tabs. They want one report that encompasses every surgical specialty you've had experience in and that's called pan specialty standard type normal format filter. If you want to make a filter, you can. So it rules out all the observed cases but it's not essential. And then press download on the consolidation report. This is what the first page of the consolidation report will look like. This is also the summary sheet. So you put print name of the consultant who has signed it, their signature, their name, their position, their GMC number and the date they signed it and then make sure that every single page has all of that information as well. Surgical experience. As you guys know, if you've done a surgical taste a week with a minimum of five days, an elective as a medical student for a minimum of four weeks or a surgical placement for a minimum of 12 weeks, you're eligible for points. How did I do it on the right? You'll see a copy of the letter that I made to score back points in this section. The evidence you need is a letter. So this is a letter on official letterhead on the top right? You'll see the official letterhead, the dates undertaken my educational supervisor and the surgical placement and hospital part in something I want you guys to note is the way I spoon fed my assessor was look you, it might not be easy to see, but I have bolded certain key words, educational supervisor of Bolden because I know we need to put the educational supervisor on there urology. I've bolden because we need to put the surgical placement there. D Valley Hospital. I've bolden cos we have to put the name of the hospital and the dates I've bolden because we have to put the dates undertaker. That concept. You should apply for the rest of this entire portfolio. OK. Holden the keywords. However, what is new for you this year is you have to also put evidence of experience that you've gained during that elective or rotation or taster. What I would recommend is just do a couple of lines, maybe 456 of your own personal reflection of what you learned and what you did that could be questioned on in your interview, have it on the same letter and get it signed by your consultant in the same way I have as part of the same matter. You can also sign it yourself. That's what I would do. Domain two clinical a quality improvement. I won't go too much into it. But as you guys know, if you've led a surgically themed audit and done two cycles or closely audit, you get max points. It is not surgically themed Eliza Point. If you've only contributed but not l you lose a point, but it must be multiple cycles. And if you've just only done a little bit of someone's order or quick, at least one cycle, you get one less point for those of you scoring A B or C, you are eligible for presentation points. If you've done a presentation that has spoken about both cycles of data or you've presented the intubation intervention and change aspects of the project, you're eligible for top top points. This can be at any meeting, it can be local, regional or national. If you've only managed to present the first piece of the cycle and your friends did the er, got the A points, then I'm sorry, you're only eligible for B if you've not presented any of it yourself, then I'm afraid you don't get any points, you'll have to score yourself soon. Cy what evidence is needed on the right? You'll see a copy of what I submitted. It has to be a letter from your supervising consultants stating the level of your involvement and all of their personal information in the notes on the website. You'll notice it has this little um bit of information saying that you participated in all stages of the audit qi project planning, data collection, data analysis, implementing change and involvement in at least two cycles. Notice on my second paragraph, I've bolden every single thing that it's saying I have to have participated in to get the points and I've summarized that on four lines. That's all you need. OK. Well, that's all I needed. And then in the top again, I put bold and supervising consultant led and I've made sure to put that it's two cycles, cos you need to have done two cycles for that top one. OK? You also need to include a copy of the presentation or a project summary, either or not both outlining the scope and impact of the findings and improvements achieved. This is just a copy of the front page of my project summary. I chose a project summary simply because it was better and easier for me to do than a project presentation. Um I've not included the rest of it, but what you can see is I've bolden the title of it, project summary and impact. I've put the title there, especially that it's two cycle quality improvement. I put me as the first author and I think that's really important that you put your guys yourselves down your position. I've then laid it out as an introduction methods, results conclusion and got it signed off by my consultant and myself as well. OK. So what evidence is required? You need the letter as I've shown you before, you need the copy of the project summary or project presentation as I've shown you before. If you score points for presentation, you must include the presentation slides that they have you named on that title page as the, as the presenting author or first author, as well as the acceptance letter or a meeting program on the right. You'll see an acceptance letter. Um example, make sure it has the title the author here, the date at which you took it, the dates here and the name of the organizer at meeting, it only needs a GMC number if it's local and if it's been coordinated by um a uh GM um a team of clinicians, I'm gonna skip over this bit because there is nothing new. I can add, you guys already know what the points are for if you want. This is just my summary. Uh You can take a quick screenshot of this if you want. It's my summary of how to split up the presentation and publication points. And you literally just go through the website. It tells you exactly what it wants. If you've done an oral or poster presentation, it literally tells you copy of all presentation slides to include. So you need to add in onto PDF presentation slidess ensuring that the front page has your title and that the name of the first author or presenter is there that being you, you also need to put in a copy of the acceptance letter just like the letter I showed you in the previous slide um and a certificate of attendance of the event, literally put in exactly what it tells you to, to put in. Nothing more, nothing less all of this you can find on the website. Teaching experience will be the final thing I talk about. So how our points allocated? I know that questions were there. It doesn't matter whether it was local, regional or national. What matters is you have worked with local educators to design a teaching program. Teaching program is defined as four or more sessions. You also have had to deliver it four or more of those teaching sessions yourself with feedback. OK. Sorry, top marks to those who have done face to face. You lose a point if you've done it online, only if you've worked with. If you've designed a teaching program, but delivered less than four of those teaching sessions, then that's score C and score D is for either of these two bullet points. If you've delivered four more teaching sessions per year. So if you've done four or more teaching sessions over two years, I'm sorry, you've done two per year. It's really horrible. And I know that, but they're looking for four or more sessions per year as well or having undertaken an educational activity focused on learning to teach. This could be a train, the trainer course, it doesn't matter how long it was. As long as you have a certificate, the evidence you need is all on the website. This is a copy of what I did for my evidence that scored factory top marks. I mention it is on letterhead of paper I put in in bold all the keywords it's looking for at the time, I had to say it was regional cos at the time. That was what got me the points at the bottom I've mentioned that the consultant has reviewed it as exceptional formal participant feedback. I'm gonna go back a slide. Please notice that you guys need to have evidence from the consultant saying that they reviewed the participant feedback. So they have reviewed it. Some of you may have questions on, hey, how should I show my feedback or this is exactly how I did it on the top left. You must include all the dates of the teaching sessions that were delivered. What's new for you is I would also include the dates of the sessions that you personally delivered it yourself. I put in some uh attendee feedback. I did some statistics literally just looking at how confident they felt before and after the sessions. And this is the final page of, of that evidence being um some more feedback on whether they agreed or disagreed with how useful it was and some more feedback about my own particular teaching, it was then signed with all the information that you need. So to summarize, make it easy for your interviewer. Don't put in all the other, don't put in um any more evidence than you need to bolden the key words in any of your evidence and keep it concise into the point. Consider using some title pages to divide your domains and do not over claim on any points that you don't have. Good luck. Any questions. Oh My Lord, there's 62 messages, right? These are probably all to do with the Portfolio Clinic. So I'm just gonna quickly go through them 22. So I can see. So, don't worry, guys, I'll make sure that the slides are made available to you. Um I apologize. I couldn't see uh that you can't see the slides and I didn't get a message. Um, does performed cases. Yes. As I said, observed is the only case that doesn't count anything better counts, do small procedures such as quarter, fine needle excision, et cetera, count as cases. They are logged in the log butters. As I said, anything that is not observed will count. Do these operative experience cases need to be completed before November 2020 or evidence. It's a good question. Preethi um I would say yes, just get it done. There may be some leeway. I can't say whether it's yes or no. At this point, I would just say, look, you've gone to the 21st. If you want to get as many present uh points as possible, go to urology, you can get so many points done in such a short period of time. For example, if you needed a stone uh done, it's they may have urethral dilatation, flexible cystoscopy, rigid uh cystoscopy, ureteroscopy, ting of stone, removal of stone. And that's six cases for the price of one. OK. That's my tip. Right to the same. Sorry. OK. My apologies about that. Yeah, I'll make sure that the slides are sent to you guys for the quip if we presented one cycle but not the second. No, because the point says you've presented one s one cycle, you need to have presented both. Um Literally, it's, it's all there on the evidence portal. It's not that tricky. It's mm Bye. Can I play a slot slot? So could you please ensure that we can see the slides? Could we get a recording? Yeah, I'll make sure that recording sent to you guys, we can see co first author, all the evidence or all the stuff about that. There is literally a topic of that in the on the website. So make sure you've actually read it. Um Yes, if you're a first coauthor that will still count as first author provided. The acceptance letter says that there a published abstract countless publication. There do these need to be done before November should be done before November. Can I please get a slot for, for the clinic neurosurgery have their own CST application process, so they will have their own. Um You'll have to apply for them with a different CST uh portfolio if you've done a regional teaching Series Court. Um In fact, what I'll do is just say, uh sh I will type the responses simply for the sake of time.
