The call to the Association of Sergeant in Uganda is to take interest in this legacy of uh Professor Wazi, especially the area of collaboration. I want us to develop a very strong department of Surgical oncology at the Uganda Cancer Institute. Then they thought they should have been guiding policies of consent and they had challenges, communicating risk and the documentation. They felt that whatever they communicated should actually be documented. So it's clear that I have been told this and this about a particular procedure in context of informed consent. I was also refresh our trainings to address the different dilemmas that are facing. Uh the process of in consent. Is there a way we can put systems and checkpoints in place to reduce surgical errors? Is there amnesty for those who have these incidences? And what about patient advocacy, continuous use of surgical safety checklist as a rule, not an exception, operating rooms would use customized dashboards to monitor their safety and efficiency, matrices, clear communication throughout the surgical process, you create an environment where everyone feels empowered to speak up. Let us empower the nurses there. We shall have things in the right way by the right team and we shall have better surgical outcomes. If you want to be a great department of surgery or anesthesia or urology, you're going to be a great department because you take great care of patients in your department. That great care will drive great papers will drive grants based on the production of patients that you take care of. So are you passionate about what you do in the operating room or are you passionate about teaching strive to remain relevant even after active surgical practice? Prove the quality of care that we are providing for these patients and to build capacity.
