Yeah. Uh hello. Can everyone hear us if you can type in the charts? Say yes. Um I don't know if you can or not because it with new accounts but it's recording. So tell me yes. Ok. Ok. Let's just schedule a screenshot. Sure. Screen. Yeah. So uh can everyone see the presentation? You sharing a screen? Right? Gosh. Um. Mhm. Ok. Oh, there we are. Ok. Can everyone see the presentation? Ok, sure. So um let's get started. So welcome to Ace explained. So where are your two officers? I'm Evan if we've morning before and I'm ta Yeah. Hm. So we'll get started with, what is AC ep so am EP is the Asian Medical Students Exchange program? It's part of ASAP and it happens every single year. So this year it will be from the 25th of July to sorry, the 25th of June to the first of July and we're exchanging with Chula Long Korn University er in Bangkok. So it's gonna last about seven days, as said on the on the dates and it's gonna be academic activities, culture, enrichment, social opportunities and um unique tourism led by fellow Thai medical students So the whole thing is actually organized by them. They have a whole itinerary lined up for us. They have accommodation, et cetera, et cetera and just to go back. So um obviously we're the two arms up officers for the UK and we also have three Taiwan's who you'll meet if you come on the exchange, that's the pictures are. And yeah, so this is actually the first in person exchange that's happened in a while. So the last in person one with Japan in 2019. And so, yeah, hopefully you'll be good. Yeah. Uh So just a bit more about where exactly we're going. So we're going to Bangkok, which is the capital city of Thailand in. But uh in terms of Thailand itself, it's, you know, a beautiful country as some of you might already know, it's a beautiful country located in Southeast Asia. It's sort of uh sort of, it's, there's bustling metropolitan Bangkok. There's also, you know, beaches, jungles, mountain ranges. So it's kind of like a juxtaposition of both sort of sit like, you know, your capital safety, but also just some great nature. There's also, you know, quite a rich history and uh rich culture of um Thailand and there's also uh loads of art and architecture that uh we will be exploring on this AM ep exchange. And obviously, as you guys might already know, you know, Thai food is like world renowned. So you'll be getting plenty of um opportunities to try that if you come on the exchange uh in terms of the actual uni itself, uh it's, you know, consistently ranked, it's, it's called Jong Korn University. And uh you know, part of that is Jong Korn University Medical School. It's consistently ranked as both the top uni but also the top medical school in Thailand, which is, you know, great to know. Um It's also, it's got, you know, access to leading teaching hospitals in the Thai capital. It's got also strong ties with Thai Red Cross, which is something quite interesting in my opinion. Uh you know, the there's a Thai Red Cross Society which runs their main teaching hospital, which is called King Chuong Memorial Hospital. And, you know, throughout this trip, you know, a as we've said, as we mentioned, um previously, it's not just academic, most of it actually isn't academic, there's a bit of like academic um opportunities and, you know, volunteering things. There's also, you know, loads of chances to socialize with Thai medical students and also just explore Bangkok in general. So, you know, there's things like, you know, just general ice breaking, but also there's, they'll, they'll put on sort of culture nights, put on day outings and, you know, as I mentioned earlier, joint volunteering, which is I think a quite a unique opportunity and something that's like, like quite hard to come by here in, in, in the UK. Um And I think, you know, personally, I think it's, it's quite a good opportunity to see into different healthcare systems and like, you know, not just different healthcare systems, pri private public, but also just how they do it in Thailand and other sort of in like parts of Asia and things like that. And, you know, obviously in Thailand there's a different patient population, there's also different diseases, things like that, which I think would be, you know, invaluable to explore on this exchange. So we have some highlights of the trip. So obviously, they've given us an itinerary and we kind of summarize the next couple slides. So first of all, as I mentioned, you know, there's loads of history, loads of culture, loads of art, there's I, you know, you might have seen P temples, they're, you know, they're uh grand, they're big, beautiful. These are three of the um sort of main ones in Bangkok. There's also things such as the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center, which uh the Thai medical service er is on the itinerary and you know, is something that is quite impressive. It's sort of like, you know, a the like Thai, I guess like Tate modern or Tate has also, they mentioned this an Kin Museum. There's an exploration of, you know, Portuguese Thai architecture and heritage. So obviously, um food is also quite a big highlight of this trip. Obviously, Thai food is world around. I'm sure all of you had Thai food before. And um so as part of the, er, trip, they've actually organized a dessert making workshop with the M DCU cooking club. So the BCU is basically like their I CSM, it's the name of the hospital and, um, it's something they do with, on most exchanges. And, um, yeah, you make Thai traditional Thai desserts such as, I don't give you an example. But, well, I mean, there's things such as, you know, mango sticky rice, which is, I think quite popular, but there's also more sort of traditional, more, you know, desserts that you might not see in like, I don't know, Waitrose, something like that. So that's that something uh to look forward to. Yeah. Yeah. So also there's um ya road which will be visiting. So that's basically Bangkok's Chinatown. So um there'll be lots of food there like Chinese food, other food, stuff like that. Um Obviously tas from Bangkok like he's been there many times. He got test to that. Um Also there's open air markets everywhere, like selling just food, but like, I think I went to a flower market at one point. Um and just like general trinkets, stuff like that. But a lot of it will be food and uh it be quite cheap as well. And also you'll get the chance to shop if you'd like. Obviously, uh everyone knows Asian walls are ridiculous like they're huge, they're massive. And um you could do one up in the bottom right corner there that massive glowing thing. It's, uh, it's called icons, I think. And like, it's gigantic, like anything you could ever want. Yes. So, in terms of, um, academic highlights, there's, uh, you know, the Tyro Cross Society, which I mentioned earlier and that's, I guess a very unique opportunity because I think here the British Red Cross isn't exactly like the Tyro Cross Society basically runs AAA big part of the, um, hospital and their sort of hospital activities, which I think is very interesting. Uh They've also advertised to us, you know, multiple different ways to get involved with. Um just like things on the ward, things like that. There's tours of labs, tours of medical simulation centers, which I think would be quite interesting. There's also a snake farm which again is run by the Thyroid Cross Society. And that's, you know, you get to interact with snakes, you get to look at snakes, but you also get to learn about, you know, how they extract antivenom and how they sort of treat these um snake bites and things like that. There's also a Psychiatry psychology workshop within the actual factory of psychology itself, of not the medical school, but the actual uni itself, which I think, you know, would be an interesting thing to explore. So that was some of the highlights. So like cultural food academic, yada yada yada. So onto the provided accommodation. So if you do go be staying at this place 56 wrong hotel in Bangkok. So it's a four star hotel, it's quite nice. Um The location is really good. It's super super central and um one important thing is it's right next to university and the hospital. So like everything will be like literally like under a five minute walk from us. And as you can see there's pictures here like it's clean high quality facilities and you can see the location on the Google Maps on the bottom left if that means anything to you. So on to the numbers and the boring stuff. So I mentioned earlier the dates. So this year it'll be from June 25th to July 1st. These dates are finalized. We've agreed with the uh with the Thai University about this and we have expected cost as well. So it's gonna be about $450. So this is not including flights. So flights we'll have to purchase separately but the prices they've given us cos everything's included er is $450. So that includes accommodation for the whole stay that includes food, um all the provided activities, et cetera, et cetera. They sent us just like this huge itinerary with like really in depth prices and like it's literally like by like the hour by day. So we have quite a lot of info on that and uh flights prices are pending. Um a return flight to Bangkok from London currently is about 570 lbs for those dates. So, and there's something we'd like to book like semi soon. So the prices shouldn't differ too much from that uh important to know if you're a UK passport holder, you don't need a visa to go to Thailand. So there's no, so no sort of extra costs or like inconvenience incurred there. And finally we'll be releasing another Google Forms. So I don't know if you guys will know, but we released one about a month ago. It kind of for people to express like people to express like kind of general interest. Um we'll be releasing a more sort of definite Google forms like hopefully today or tomorrow if you take if you for you to like express proper interest in going on the trip and the deadline of that will be the end of the month, there is a chance we'll extend it further but for now I assume that the end of the month is is the deadline and that's a more like definite like you know, you want to go on a trip but yeah um any questions we're more or less done, to be honest. That was definitely no hour. But yeah, it's kind of all the info you needed. You can pop in, pop them into the chat you want to if you want. I don't know if you can do that as a as as a audience. I've never used at all before but ok. Mm mm the um So Marco, how is food included if we are going to night markets? So I am not entirely sure to be frank, but the Thai University, like we, we send them like a $450 whatever, like they asked about my money and they said everything's included. So I'm sure they worked it out somehow. Like perhaps they'll provide like cash or something like that to use like like local Thai cash or something like that. But um or maybe they'll say about what you want, but like they have an estimated price for how much the market should cost. But um that $450 should include uh everything really unless you wanna go shopping or something like that. Uh Any more questions? How many spaces? Um Currently it's actually quite variable. We've, we've not told the, you're not told the Thai people yet how many people to expect. So I think um at most, we'll be expecting about 10 people from the UK going to Thailand. Um But in terms of like there's no sort of competing for spaces or anything like that, like we, because we, because we can tell them how many numbers to expect. But I think just out of like gen expected numbers probably about like 10 ish. So like before two o'clock, any more questions. Yeah, just to let you guys know that this, you know, this is recorded and also that we'll probably be sending the slides into the chat as well. So just if you wanted to clarify anything or else anything later, that's also fine. Yeah. Um we'll be sending that into the chat and also um we'll be sending a message into the chat just saying like if you have any questions just you can feel free to DM US. Um We have like like this powerpoint, this m like much more like a vague summary. We have a lot of info they sent us like this gigantic itinerary. So this is more just to kind of condense it down into a more digestible format. Mm ok. We'll give it like this question. I was doing an you when you talked about the flight, how much will flight prices be around? Uh We can we have a slide for that. So let me just go back. Oh, we don't have a slide for that actually, but we do have the prices up. So um for a round trip like I know some people have expressed interest in actually a one way uh flight but for a for a round trip, at least from London to Bangkok currently it's around 570 lbs for these specific dates. Yeah, and and 5570 that's sort of the cheapest flight that's sort of within a reasonable flight duration if that makes sense. So normally a one way sort of no stops trip to from London to Bangkok is about 12 hours. Uh that is obviously going to be more expensive than flights that stop at, uh, like that have like a stopover. So I, for, for what, from what we've looked at the most reasonable one is probably 15 hours on Qatar Airways. Maybe that would be about 570 lbs with a stop in, I think. Doha. Um, so that would be about 15 hours for 570 lbs. Yeah. Yeah, it's just like, I think it's like an hour and a half stop in Doha. We can probably look at one way as well in case anyone wants to do one way. Uh that one. Yeah, so if anyone is interested in a one way flight cos I know some people want to stay in Asia afterwards but um that's the it's the same flight actually and it's about 370 lbs for the for the one way to Bangkok. Ok. Ok. Make it worse in the meal. I think we'll give like another like minute and a half uh for questions and if not we'll finish up after that we're gonna send like as I said before um we're gonna send the slides and a message to the chat with the Google Forms hopefully today or tomorrow and um we're also gonna mention uh feel free to give us any questions cos we do have like a lot of info that they gave us. So. Mhm. Um if there's no more questions we'll probably end it there. Um Thank you for coming and hopefully we'll see you guys on the exchange and if that's also completely fine. But yeah, just as I mentioned before, we're gonna send the slides and a message with the Google forms into the chat and also feel free to DM either of us with any questions, cos we have so much info like we have an exact itinerary and everything. So, so yeah. Um Thank you very much for listening.
