Join us for GASOC's January journal club on Tuesday 21st January at 6:30pm GMT.
This months journal club is obstetrics and gynaecology themed and will focus on Updates in Global Obstetric Research. We will be hearing from three clinicians Dr Alice Beardmore-Grey a specialist trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and coordinator of the CRADLE-4 Trial, and Dr Sindhu Natarajan & Leanne Beeson involved in running the E-MOTIVE trial.
Dr Alice Beardmore-Gray is a Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She was the trial coordinator of The CRADLE-4 Trial, which evaluated the optimal timing of birth for women with pre-eclampsia in India and Zambia, and is currently leading the EMPOWERED study, which aims to better understand the longer-term health outcomes for women affected by severe pre-eclampsia in Zambia and Sierra Leone.
Dr Sindhu Natarajan is the Programme Manager for the E-MOTIVE trial in the College of Medicine and Health, University of Birmingham. Sindhu is a public health physician by training with a previous research background in tropical diseases and vaccines in LMIC settings.
Leanne Beeson is the Programme Officer for the E-MOTIVE trial in the College of Medicine and Health, University of Birmingham. Leanne has worked at Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit for over 12 years and has worked in a Trials Management role for over 9 years. Leanne has worked across several Women’s Health trials including RESPITE, MifeMiso and E-MOTIVE.
