The Bangladeshi Doctors' UK National Conference 2024 is a premier gathering of medical professionals from both the UK and abroad, committed to fostering collaboration and the exchange of knowledge. This event serves as a platform for doctors to engage in discussions on cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and pressing healthcare issues. Our goal is to address healthcare challenges, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and provide a networking platform for leaders in the field in training across borders. There will be Podium Oral presentations for shortlisted abstracts, judged by an expert panel, with a number of prizes in various specialties. Themes for submitted research from any medical speciality this year are: discovery, collaboration and improvement. Pre-conference workshop tickets will be launched on 15th September.

An update on Planetary Health Academia - how this trans-Atlantic training collaborative impacts cross-border training. Mr Farid will also update us on the MTI programme with Bangladesh he established, sharing insights on its progress and how you can set one up yourself in your region.
Dr Anis Ahmed, Consultant Psychiatrist, Chair of the Volunteering and International Psychiatry Special Interest Group (VIPSIG) at the Royal College of Psychiatrists
The importance of well-being and how to keep check to ensure you reach your potential. Dr Ahmed will also be updating us on the work at VIPSIG at the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Dr Latif Raiyan Rahman, former Chief Registrar and current Consultant in Acute Medicine at the University Hospitals of Leicester
Dr Rahman will share the journey to establish an acute medicine curriculum in Bangladesh whilst still a trainee, with the RCP chair visiting Bangladesh. He will be sharing insights into how you can make a difference in your respective specialty.
Mr Asan Rafee is a Senior Trauma and Reconstruction Consultant Surgeon at Salford Royal hospital.
Mr Rafee has been Involved in humanitarian missions and supporting and advising aid agencies, The Palestine Children Relieve fund, David Nott Foundation, Syria Relieve, and Action for humanity. He has provided surgical treatment and teaching and building reconstruction units in conflict and catastrophe zones in Palestine ‘Gaza and Westbank’, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen and Iraq. He will share experiences from his most recent mission.

Numayer Chowdhury will be sharing insights into launching a health-tech start-up.
The academic programme will be followed by a drinks reception at 6pm, with break-out facilities for prayers. A Gala dinner will be served at 7pm followed by cultural entertainment.
Early bird tickets are £79 for full conference and dinner until 30th September, £99 thereafter. This is a family-friendly conference, children 12 years old and below are £15 and those 5 years old and below are free.
