Yes. You could do it! If you were to correct a chest wall deformity now, you would do the following: 1. Setup - “if you fail to prepare…” 2. “Look twice, measure thrice” - get the correct laterality and get the right sizes in your head 3. Cut into the chest and abdomen - a whole lot of incision 4. Achieve haemostasis - please don’t bleed to death 5. Insertion the implant to fix the deformity - the good bit! 6. Fiddle a bit - make sure it’s sited nicely 7. Sew patient back up - closing now 8. Give them a chest belt for compression - postoperative recovery 9. Insert drain for blood & serous fluid - please enjoy your stay in hospitalBut you just told me how vital the lungs are!
