Postgraduate medical education
Welcome
Our role is to support education and training of all the doctors in the Trust. This includes foundation year doctors, core trainees, staff grades, associate specialists and consultants.
We continually develop the academic programme for the foundation programme and core medical trainees providing high quality teaching to meet their curriculum needs. Hospital-wide we arrange the grand round which is a great platform for teams to bring interesting cases or advances in the field to a multispecialty and multidisciplinary audience. We also provide an array of courses across different grades of doctors.
The team is supported by two postgraduate medical education fellows who are doctors in the middle of their specialty training with an interest in medical education. During their post they get the opportunity to undertake further qualification in medical education including a PGCert, diploma or masters.
